Dear Sixth and Seventh Grade Parents,
Welcome to Spring! It is great to see the weather improving and allowing us to do more activities that can go beyond the classroom, and LHMS teachers and staff are happy about that because there is still a lot of learning left to get your child ready for the 24-25 school year.
Speaking of next year, please remember that Scheduling Conferences will take place April 5th. For 6th graders going into 7th, Scheduling Conferences will take place at LHMS. There is no appointment needed–drop in anytime from 8:30-2:30. For 7th graders going into 8th grade, scheduling conferences will take place at Lake Hamilton Junior High and are done by appointment with your child's advisor. If you have any questions about Junior High conferences please reach out to LHJH counselor, Jennifer Coats (jennifer.coats@lhwolves.net). Likewise, please take the time to review your child’s course selection options before you attend his/her conference. This information has been passed out to your child and discussed with them in order to help with this conversation.
Please don’t let the length of this month’s Activity Calendar fool you, we have some BIG events coming up. Mainly three track meets and we finish our summative testing with ATLAS. Please remember that on April 29th we will not have Late Start Monday so we can start testing at 8:00 am.
LHMS students selected Mrs. Ryals as our feature teacher this past month. Please take the time to read the attachment about why LHMS students think she is the greatest!
Next year will bring a few changes to LHMS and one of those will be the principal. I will be at LHHS next year as the high school principal and Katelyn Walker has been recommended to be the LHMS principal. Mrs. Walker has a strong background in education and a commitment to excellence. LHMS is lucky to have her!
Have a great month and enjoy the eclipse.
Clint Jones
LHMS Principal
